Gratton Coulee, Hogan Hill and Hogan Hill Extension
Grading, Paving and Bridge file construction
MD of Wainwright

Gratton Coulee, Hogan Hill and Hogan Hill Ext. Grading, Paving and Bridge file construction was a three-year road improvement project. After completion of the first project, ROHI was hired to complete the additional three contracts, including the Gratton Coulee Road.

The total of the combined contracts was $24,605,871.55 and included 1.65 million cubic metres of earth moving, three Bridge File replacements, and 30.4 km of base paving.

The MD of Wainwright engaged ROHI for the design of the upgrade of the Gratton Coulee Road from Highway 881 to Highway 14. The project was 6.4 km in length and included major re-alignment of the road.

Particular challenges on this project were; re-aligning Gratton Coulee Road beneath the existing CNR overpass, ensuring all environmental regulations and Alberta Transportation standards were met when intersecting Alberta Transportation Jurisdiction, and public roads, and constructing with highly erodible soils near wetlands.
